Jennifer Smyser is vice president and director of policy programming strategy at the Stanley Center for Peace and Security, where she leads the center’s efforts to catalyze action and drive impact on strategic policy goals addressing the global challenges of climate change, nuclear weapons, and mass violence and atrocities. Smyser joined the center in 2006, initially responsible for outreach to citizen leaders and then overseeing the nuclear policy programming. Prior to that, she spent a decade working at US-based nongovernmental organizations focused on global engagement and citizen diplomacy. Throughout her career, Smyser has served on the boards of several nonprofit organizations. Smyser has a Master's in public administration from Drake University and a BA in political science and international studies from Iowa State University.
